The demolition of Bangabandhu's house is equivalent to the demolition of entire Bangladesh

On February 5th, an attack led to the destruction of Bangabandhu’s house located at Dhanmondi-32, Dhaka, in the presence of police. Eyewitnesses indicated that a group of 300 to 500 people gathered and started vandalizing the house. Over time, the crowd grew to about 2,000 people, but only half of them participated in the destruction. After approximately half an hour, two to three military vehicles arrived and observed the situation without intervening. After a while, they left. The vandalism continued until February 6th, with government-owned bulldozers and machinery being used to further demolish the house. This made it clear to the people of Bangladesh that the destruction had been authorized by the current interim government. From the evening of February 5th until February 7th, similar acts of destruction spread across Bangladesh, targeting the homes and properties of Sheikh Hasina, ministers, Awami League leaders, and their families. However, these attacks abruptly ceased after Dr. Yunus publicly stated that such actions would not be tolerated. This raised questions as to why the government remained silent until the vandalization had been completed, suggesting that the destruction had been coordinated by the government.

But why target Bangabandhu's house? It is not just any building; it is a historical landmark of immense significance to Bangladesh’s struggle for independence. It was from this house that the Father of the Nation, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, declared the country’s independence on March 26, 1971. Since its construction in 1956, it has been the center of political activities. It is not merely a house—it's a symbol of Bangladesh's nationhood. As this house was an iconic symbol of Bangladesh, Pakistan had always resented both Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the house itself, especially since it was from here that he declared the country’s independence. Many Pakistani leaders expressed their approval when they learned that the house had been demolished. Pakistan has never fully accepted Bangladesh's sovereignty; they have always been envious, particularly as Bangladesh has outpaced Pakistan in nearly all key economic indicators. The current chief adviser of the interim government seems to be pleased with the situation, and Pakistan appears equally satisfied. In an immediate gesture, Pakistan's foreign secretary expressed a desire to visit Bangladesh soon. After Dr. Yunus assumed power, a group of individuals organized the first-ever celebration of the death anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, at the Dhaka Press Club. Simultaneously, efforts were made to erase and rename Bangabandhu’s legacy from institutions and infrastructure. Even those who expressed respect for him or chanted slogans in his name faced assault and arrest. Many important national day celebrations related to the nation's independence have been canceled.

Furthermore, prior to his arrival in Bangladesh to take the oath of office as chief adviser, Dr. Yunus made inflammatory comments about India, threatening to destabilize the seven sister regions of India if they did not cooperate with him. His supporters then launched speeches against India and began convincing many social and political groups to create anti-Indian sentiment while forging stronger ties with Pakistan. In the early days of his takeover of power, his allies raised questions about changing the national song, the national flag, and even the name of the country—“Bangladesh.” On all these matters, Dr. Yunus remained silent. The recent vandalism of the Father of the Nation’s house, attacks on Awami League leaders' properties, the questioning of the national song, flag, and even the country's name, along with the cancellation of celebrations of important national days, have led many to wonder: Is there a broader agenda at play? Could these actions be part of a larger effort to transform Bangladesh into what could be seen as “East Pakistan” once again? People are asking whether these events, culminating in the ousting of Sheikh Hasina, signify an attempt to reestablish Bangladesh as part of Pakistan. "Now, the people of Bangladesh believe that the ousting of Sheikh Hasina was not due to popular movements against her, but rather a conspiracy involving certain factions of the army, anti-Bangladesh political parties, and in connivance with Pakistan. Once an impartial survey is conducted, it will still show her popularity at more than 70 percent."

Due to the army's deployment across the country, people are unable to speak out as the entire population is going through severe panic and hardship. If anyone dares to speak out and express support for Bangabandhu, they are immediately arrested.

Moreover, there is no justice in the country, and the police and administration are helpless, unable to extend due cooperation to those who deserve it. The media is also under serious threat—anyone who dares to report the news is at risk. Anyone who expresses dislike toward the government will immediately be arrested or subjected to other forms of harassment. Dr. Yunus is using so-called student leaders to cause destruction whenever he deems necessary. Whenever judges, police, or administrative officials refuse to act according to Dr. Yunus' wishes, he sends these student groups to assault them, force them to lose their jobs, or even send them to jail. However, Dr. Yunus externally portrays himself as quiet and unaware, even though everything is going according to his plan. In this situation, more than 90% of the people are living in fear, waiting for divine intervention to rescue them, as they
believe this country is on the brink of destruction.
